I think wealth inequality is the most important problem facing our country. While this topic is being discussed more frequently today than in recent years, I continue to be amazed and disheartened by how little action is being taken by anyone to address it. I think a big part of the reason is simply that it’s so hard for us to grasp the magnitude of inequality in America. I saw this YouTube video a few years ago and think it’s one of the most important descriptions of the gap between our collective beliefs and the shocking reality: most of us agree with how much inequality we should have in our society, we think it’s much worse than this, but the reality is far, far extreme.
