The ideas presented in this section are the core of this site and are the main content I want to share. I’ve framed them all as proposals because my ultimate focus is action. What should we do? What kinds of changes should we make? As I read the news, blogs, and articles from a wide range of commentators I hear lots of descriptions of problems and lots of hand-wringing, but few proposals. So I’ve tried to make specific proposals.
In some cases I’ve also provided some framing and context. This is particularly the case for my ideas about America’s future and capitalism. And in some cases I’ve offered predictions. But overall my goal is to suggest what we might do to make the world better, in big ways and small.
I’ve organized the proposals in categories because they are quite different and may have a different appeal to different readers. Some folks may be interested in college football, while others are intrigued by the idea of modernizing America’s state structure–but it’s pretty clear these are different types of ideas. So they are grouped in the categories listed below. Please explore any and all that are of interest to you, and share any feedback or suggestions you may have!
